Sunset Summits is a 325+ home development in Duncan, SC,which will offer residents on-demand teleconferencing, monitored VOIP telecommunications, ultra high speed internet access, neighborhood security cameras and other FTTH powered services.

Taylor Village & Waverly Woods in
Ellicott City, MD
ECC evaluated a variety of different technologies to provide service, including B-PON, E-PON, and Ethernet Point-to-Point (PTP) architectures. Ultimately, ECC chose an AFL Telecommunications’ Ethernet PTP architecture, using two fibers to each home. One of the fibers is used for voice and data services, with coarse WDM used to provide downstream connectivity at 1550 nm and upstream connectivity at 1310 nm.

Tollgate Village
AFL Telecommunications assisted Crystal Clear Technologies (CCT), Tollgate’s own technology service provider, and the developers of Tollgate Village in the FTTH network design and business modeling. CCT is providing a wide range of high-tech services including high-speed internet, digital telephone service, video service including HDTV, and home and business security services.

Fiber to the Cabin/Chalet - Smoky Mountains
Integrated Networking Technologies (Intec) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was tasked with determining the best method of providing these services at a reasonable price point. Due to the rugged terrain, a wireless communication system was not an option, and they determined that the return on investment was better for fiber than an additional copper/coax build.
