The Future Access™ Distributed Architecture (DA) Splitter Modules are small, modular splitter modules central to the functionality of a FTTH network. With a distributed architecture approach, the subscribers ONU device is shared amongst 8 to 12 subscribers. Using the DA version splitter modules with built in attenuation allows the provider to utilize the same 32 port OLT and service MDU and SDU customers all from the same OLT electronics. The DA Splitter Modules provide enough attenuation to match the IL of standard 1x32 and 1x16 splitter modules.
The AFL Future Access™ DA Splitter Modules feature pigtails manufactured with the Fujikura SR-15e Bend Insensitive Fiber as a standard feature. Performing optically equivalent to standard Singlemode fiber down to a 15mm bend radius, it aids in minimizing the chance of signal loss due to densely packed patch panel routing installations. Equipped with a unique, self-latching locking mechanism, the Future Access™ DA Splitter Modules help an installer reduce the amount of time required to deploy service. No tools are required during installation, aiding in efficiency and reduced down-time. A durable glass-reinforced thermo-plastic housing protects the optical components of the splitter modules. In conjunction with full GR-1209 and 1221 testing compliance, this design ensures longevity and durability in an outside plant environment.
The Future Access™ DA Splitter Modules are designed to be specifically utilized in three unique applications. One application is for indoor or outdoor wall mounting. The second is for rack mounting in a 1RU panel. And the third application is for use in Gen 3 Fiber Distribution Hubs manufactured by ADC and Corning Cable Systems.
