AFL's MicroCore fibre optic cable is an advanced blown cable technology designed for underground duct cables suitable for many applications. From backbone networks to Fiber-to-the-Subscriber (FTTx), MicroCore provides a solution with designs based on minimal cable and duct diameters for cost-effective installation and materials.
Using microduct technology, MicroCore cables are jetted through a network of microducts using compressed air. As conduit systems are installed, microducts and cable can be “blown in” as required giving installers the flexibility of deploying fibre only when needed, reducing initial investment costs.
AFL's MicroCore system can be used for overriding existing networks and conduits, reducing network disruption and expensive excavation costs and permits during installation. Light weight and flexible, MicroCore is made with a specially designed low friction jacket to enable greater jetting lengths to reduce time and cost.
