AFL Telecommunications, a Fujikura Ltd. business, has been selected by the developers of Sunset Summits residential community to provide an end-to-end solution for the first ultra-high capacity broadband Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) neighborhood in the Upstate of South Carolina.
Sunset Summits, a four-phase 325 residential home development near Hwy 290 in Duncan, SC, will offer unprecedented, multi-megabit broadband capacity for every home. The community network will provide access to a full suite of services including video, phone, ultra high-speed data, and neighborhood security cameras. In addition, the network can support advanced networking services such as teleconferencing, distance learning, and VLANs (Virtual Local Area Network), providing secure remote access to corporate networks. The network is designed to be future-proof and has the capacity to support connectivity up to 100 Megabits/second to an individual subscriber, enabling Sunset Summits residents to experience new high-speed services as its deployed around the world.
