AFL's Ethernet Concentrator is Finalist for 2005 INNOVATION Award
August 10, 2005

Electrical Contracting Products magazine, the product information authority for decision makers at the nation’s leading electrical contracting firms, has announced the 2005 INNOVATION Award Finalists. The prestigious program recognizes outstanding companies whose products or services have best responded to electrical contractors’ market challenges by offering creative and innovative ideas.

The list of finalists for this year’s event reads like a Who’s Who of companies serving the $82 billion electrical contracting market. Divided into 15 product categories, the 2005 INNOVATION Awards are judged by a distinguished panel of professional electrical contractors who will evaluate each of the over 120 product finalists on six criteria:

Innovation
Ease of use
Cost effectiveness
Quality contribution
Maintainability
Productivity improvements

AFL submitted the new FNT-3824, a 24-Port 100BaseFX Ethernet Concentrator, designed to be the ideal way to extend fiber connections from a Gigabit Ethernet fiber backbone to the home, business, or desktop. Each downstream port provides up to 100Mb full-duplex service over a single optical fiber while two Gigabit uplink ports can be provided in single-mode, multimode, or RJ-45 configurations. The FNT-3824 is a cost-effective solution for the LAN while providing a full suite of carrier-class service and management features for Fiber-To-The-Premise deployment.

The 2005 INNOVATION Award winners will be presented their trophies at a special ceremony and reception being held at the New Orleans Convention Center on Sunday, September 18th on the first evening of the National Electrical Contractors Association’s Show.
